Fun fact: in my early demos, the bridge to my single “Give Me More” was originally the chorus.

But in the end, when we made some re-writes, I was happy to have it become the bridge. It is also my favorite part of the song.

Bridges hold a special place to me for their revealing and hard hitting nature. Many contemporary pop songs are making this section disappear, but I say bring them back!

Now for something a little different…my first concert ever was seeing Michael Jackson live at Tokyo Dome in December 1996. The excellent @jmoffettmjm (who was on that tour and several others) holds the title for the first drummer I saw in concert 🙌😊

Though I was quite young, MJ’s show was a quasi-religious experience that I have held dear to my heart since.

Thriller is one of the greatest albums in recorded music history - with some serious legends playing on it (Ndugu Chancler, Jeff Porcaro…). Tasteful, tricky drumming!

Behind the Music: the making of “Give Me More”

This was a song I started writing im February 2020, right before the pandemic . After years in the sidelines, my friend @waynecohensongs suggested we work on it together and in early 2024 the song was completed.

Though I’ve spent years working in bands, with multiple releases, this was my first experience self-producing an entire song. It never hurts to revisit an older (good) idea!
